So, how did I get here? What made me go electric? My journey started in 1971. But that's only the year I was born, so we're going to fast-forward to 1981.

1981 is right around when I started hearing about how fantastic my future was going to be. Things were going to be different. Things were going to be GREAT! Based on everything I was told, I would one day have a FLYING CAR!

Well, now THAT is something to look forward to. And for most of my childhood and teenage years, I looked forward to that possibility of a flying car. I also started to develop a love for computers... and electronics. I spent many years working in management for companies like Radio Shack and CompUSA.

Now, one thing I have learned throughout life is that -- you know what you know. Simply meaning, you learn what you learn... which happens because it's what you do, practice, study, etc. I don't know how to change the oil in a car because I've never tried it or done it. But I know how to change a tire because I have. Since I spent most of my life around computers and electronics, I *understand* how that stuff works. I never understood gas powered cars. I don't know what a carbeurator is or does. I have no idea what happens inside an engile with the oil or the gas or how that gets turned into energy to power a traditional car. But I understand electricity and computer functions, because that's what I've been exposed to in life.

Fast-forward a bit to 2003/2004. Tesla Motors was founded. Three people and a dream. A wild fantasy, more or less. BUT... it was one that I understood. Now, this isn't a page about the JOURNEY OF TESLA, so we'll skip over most of THEIR history... but in early 2015, after several years developing the Roadster and the Models S and X... Tesla started seriously talking about their current-day MODEL 3. The first Tesla that somebody like me could actually afford.

Now, by 2009, I had spent much of my life working for other people and companies, when a friend of mine (thanks alot, Erik) talked me into taking a leap of faith and starting my own IT CONSULTING FIRM for small and medium sized clients. I was already working in the I.T. industry... just not for myself. Since 2009, and for over a decade, I've been running a very successful small business -- consulting for people on things that I understand... that my customers don't.

Anyway, by early 2016, Tesla's plans for their "affordable consumer level EV" had started to materialize and finally looked realistic. And, now at the age of 44, STILL NO FLYING CAR!! So, when they opened up reservations on that luxurious weekend at the end of March 2016, I went online and gave them my refundable $1,000 deposit.

Over two agonizing years later... in November of 2018... I took delivery of my first electric vehicle. I'm still pretty upset that it doesn't fly... but I'm not giving it back. But now it's 2022, and I own an electric car for almost 4 years and because it's a technology I understand, I figured why not offer to do something I'm already great at (speaking with people and explaining things in a simple to understand format) for those looking to dive into the world of EVs.
